Bookworms Read More Books

My life has a superb cast but I can’t quite figure out the plot.

My name is Cindy. I’m thirty-five. That looks older when it’s spelled out than it does in number form.

I am a daughter, a sister, a niece, a cousin, a friend, a voracious reader, a cookie jar collector, a {FORMER!} retail slave, an animal lover, a dog lover in particular, divorced, slightly obsessive compulsive, somewhat creative, occasionally motivated, and a little bit funny when I want to be.

**I am actually no longer a retail slave. I started a new job in October that gets me out of the retail world! I am still in customer service, but it doesn’t involve being anywhere at 1am on Black Friday so it’s all good.**

I work a lot, read a lot, watch a lot of movies, and spend way too much time online.

I have three tattoos (three stars on the inside of my left wrist, a pink ribbon and quarter moon in my right ankle, and 13 stars on my right foot) but I want more. Though I don’t think I’ll ever get another one on my foot. But, never say never. The picture used to rate 3 star books is my wrist tattoo.

Thanks to the movie Poltergiest I seriously dislike clowns, they creep me the eff out.

I could easily listen to nothing but Tori Amos and The Beatles for the rest of my life.

I love watching musicals and westerns. John Wayne is one of my favorite actors, McLintock! being my favorite John Wayne movie. I have recently discovered that I know almost every line in that movie by heart. True Grit is my second favorite John Wayne movie. If you haven’t seen either of them, you should.

I love Star Wars and comic books and I am happily obsessed with all things Harry Potter.

My favorite book of all time is To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

Beverly Cleary was my first ever favorite author and she remains at the top of the list after all these years. I wanted to live on Klickitat Street and be BFF’s with Ramona. I still enjoy reading Cleary’s books on occasion. Just recently I’ve listened to them on audiobook, narrated by Stockard Channing. I loved Channing before when I just thought of her as Rizzo, but now that she is forever linked to Ramona in my mind, I’m an even bigger fan.

When I was a kid my dream job was to be a librarian so I could be surrounded by books all day long every day. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know several great librarians at my public library over the years and one of my biggest pet peeves is an unfriendly librarian.

I’ll read just about anything from classic literature to silly mysteries to the occasional romance novel. Memoirs and biographies are always interesting and I also love true crime books and other sociological subjects. Young adult books are favorites as well. Sometimes I re-read the books I read as a kid and I’m always on the lookout for a new YA book.

I love discovering new authors and new books, particularly a new series. I love recommendations so feel free to share!
