John Ronald Reuel Tolkien b. 3 January 1892

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.

  1. Cool quote. I haven’t read the books or seen the movies but my Mom loves them. I am going to try to read the Hobbit. I hear the books are kind of hard to read. What do you think?

    I find the books hard to read. I read fast so I tend to like a fast paced story. To me Tolkien’s work moves very slow because he is extremely descriptive. I’ve gotten partway through The Hobbit and I haven’t even tried Lord of the Rings. But I know you can do anything you put your mind to! They are both still on my TBR list though. One day…
